About Run mental

When you make the decision to work with RunMental, you will quickly realize in your first session this is unlike any other PT or coach you have worked with before. Time is taken to understand you as a person first and an athlete second. The specifics of your situation are vital and we don’t want to miss any of them.

Communication is key to your success. we make ourselves open and available to all of those we work with. If you have a question or concern about your progress at any point, let’s talk about it immediately. It is important to us that you have confidence in your plan going forward and that it makes sense to you.

Meet the Team

Adam Schwerdt, DPT

Owner, Doctor of physical therapy, and Lv 1 USATF certified coach

Growing up, I played a multitude of sports (soccer, basketball, baseball, football). Conditioning was always my favorite part of practice, maybe because it was the part I seemed to excel at. Perhaps, this was a sign that the endurance world was more of my calling. Who knows? It wasn’t until high school that I found and fell in love with distance running after joining the cross country team my sophmore year. I continued my running career by walking-on to a small, private D2 cross country and track team in St. Louis where I also went to PT school.

(Un)Fortunately, I had quite a bit of time away from running throughout high school and college due to injuries and burnout. I didn’t know it then, but it would be the catalyst that would drive me to specialize in managing runners. These experiences provided me some fond memories and the best friendships, but I also know first hand the heartache, frustration, and even depression it can also create when things aren’t going well. I wish to help all the runners I work with be able to obtain their own epic stories and amazing life experiences running can provide while minimizing the negative ones to the best of my ability. I know the decision of who to work with for rehab or performance is not an easy one so I would be honored if you chose to put your trust in me to aid in supporting your running goals.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring different training/movement, spending time with my 2 dogs and wife, backpacking, and look to continue exploring the beautiful state of Colorado.
